Coolant smell on my 2016 Acadia

I drive a 2016 Acadia with 100k miles, and while it runs perfectly, I keep smelling coolant once the engine gets hot, only from outside the car. It never overheats, smokes, or shows visible leaks, and I've only topped off coolant once. I'm guessing the water pump might be seeping, but it's hard to see. Has anyone else dealt with this, and should I be worried about long-term damage?

Yes, I had the same issue with my '15 Acadia at about 95k miles. I smelled coolant but didn't see any leaks. The water pump was slowly leaking, just enough to smell it, but not enough to drip. My mechanic looked through the wheel area and found it. I got it replaced before it got worse. It's better to fix it early so it doesn't cause bigger problems later.

That lines up with what I was thinking, it sounds like the pump is the likely culprit. I'll have a shop check it before it turns into something bigger
