I've been having this issue with my 2020 Acadia SLT for almost a week now. So the wipers cycle about 3.5 times and then stop dead in the middle of the windshield on the fourth pass, in the middle of the windshield! If I try to use the intermittent setting, they only move as long as I hold the switch down. Even more frustrating, if I set them to any of the delay speeds, nothing happens and they just run continuously at a slow speed! Has anyone else experienced this or do you have any suggestions on what to check next?

Could be a wiper motor park switch or control module issue, when the wipers stop mid-swipe or only work while holding the switch, its often the motor not parking correctly or a fault in the body control module. Check the wiper relay and connections for corrosion or looseness. Noticed any moisture or water gotten into the fuse box or under the cowl recently?

Yep, it's classic behavior for a failing wiper motor assembly, specifically its internal park switch or position sensor.Could be a wiper motor park switch or control module issue, when the wipers stop mid-swipe or only work while holding the switch, its often the motor not parking correctly or a fault in the body control module. The motor has internal contacts or a sensor that tells the Body Control Module (BCM) exactly where the wipers are in their cycle. If that part goes bad, the BCM loses track, causing it to stop randomly or behave erratically on intermittent settings.
It's trying to complete a cycle, but doesn't know when it's at the park position. This is the #1 suspect for your exact symptoms
Completely agree with the others, the motor isn't getting the signal to finish the cycle on its own, park function is usually built into the wiper motor assembly, could be wiring issue too but yh the motor itself is a common failure point with these symptoms, consider a replacement if its still under warranty.
