Probable cause of oil leak

Noticed a small oil spot under my 2017 Acadia this week and now I'm in detective mode cos I'd rather get ahead of it before it turns into a driveway art project. I already checked the dipstick and I'm maybe half a quart low after about 3,000 miles since the last change. The bottom of the engine has a light film of oil starting around the passenger side and its hard to tell if it's coming from the valve cover area, oil pan gasket, or maybe the oil filter housing. I came here to ask tho, are there common leak points on the 2017 model I should check first?

Okay, that sounds right. For the 2017 Acadia, the valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and oil filter housing usually have issues. I'd check those first.
