Added a heated steering wheel

After a couple weeks thinking about it (it hasn't let me sleep full hours at night lol) I added a heated steering wheel to my dear old 2020 Acadia SLT. The wiring and clock spring had to be swapped as well, but the installation went fine! The heat works using the button. The only problem is, it won't activate with remote start like the heated seats do. Is this a BCM programming issue, or is there a separate wheel variant required for that function to work? FYI there are no settings visible in the dash menu either.

GM might have intentionally locked out heated wheel activation via remote start in the BCM for your trim level even if the hardware supports it. You'll likely need a dealer flash or custom tuner to unlock that function

It's likely a BCM programming gap especially since the dash menu doesn't show any options. Some heated wheel variants need specific BCM configs to sync with remote start. Yeah, agree with @Cosmos10 there, try checking if your wheel supports auto heat and if the BCM needs a config to enable or unlock it.
